Senior Outdoor Activities Specialist

16 Years Helping Older Adults Explore Český Ráj
Jiří's journey into senior-focused outdoor activities began after spending his early career as a general outdoor recreation instructor in the Bohemian Paradise region. In 2008, he noticed a gap in programming for older adults who wanted to stay active but needed carefully designed trails and support. This observation led him to pursue additional certification in gerontology from the Czech Hiking Association and develop the first certified easy-access trail network in Český ráj specifically for seniors.
Over the past decade, he's become recognized across Central Europe for his work mapping and evaluating low-impact sandstone trails, publishing detailed accessibility guides, and training guides in age-appropriate outdoor leadership. His approach combines meticulous attention to physical limitations—joint impact, cardiovascular considerations, navigation challenges—with genuine enthusiasm for helping older adults experience the natural beauty of their own region.
At nextrandomchat s.r.o., he leads content development and trail curation initiatives, drawing from thousands of personal hikes and direct feedback from senior participants. Over 2,400 older adults have benefited from his programs across the Czech Republic.

What Jiří Knows Best
Český Ráj Sandstone Trails
The Bohemian Paradise region's unique sandstone formations create stunning landscapes—but also specific challenges for older hikers. Jiří has spent years evaluating every major route in the area, understanding exactly which trails work for seniors and which don't.
He knows the surface quality of each path, where the steep sections hide, which viewpoints reward the effort, and where to find quiet spots to rest. Not guesses. Actual thousands of kilometers of personal hiking and direct feedback from participants.
Age-Friendly Activity Design
Staying active as you age isn't about pushing harder—it's about smart design. Joint impact, cardiovascular load, navigation challenges, recovery time. Jiří understands the real physical considerations that affect older adults in outdoor settings.
He's trained guides, published accessibility assessments, and built programs that work. The goal isn't just to get people outdoors. It's to build confidence, maintain independence, and help older adults feel capable on trails they thought were behind them.
How Jiří Works
Meticulous Trail Evaluation
Every recommendation comes from actual field experience. Not hearsay. Not assumptions. Personal evaluation of surface quality, elevation changes, rest areas, and real conditions.
Direct Participant Feedback
Over 2,400 older adults have been part of his programs. Their feedback drives decisions. When something isn't working, he changes it. That's how guides improve.
Genuine Enthusiasm for Aging
He doesn't see aging as decline. He sees it as a different phase where outdoor activity looks different but matters just as much. That perspective changes everything.
Evidence-Based Knowledge
Studies in gerontology, sports science, and landscape ecology inform his work. But practical experience always comes first. Theory without real-world testing doesn't help anyone.
