Common Questions
Everything you need to know about hiking Český ráj with us
Not at all. We design our routes specifically for active older adults, and most trails average 8-12 kilometers with plenty of stops for photos and rest. Our guides adjust the pace to match the group, and we always have alternative shorter routes available if needed.
Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) are ideal—the weather's mild, wildflowers bloom in spring, and fall colors are stunning. Summer works too, though it gets busier and hotter. We run hikes year-round, but winter requires extra care on icy sandstone.
Sandstone can be crumbly, especially after rain, but it's rarely slippery like wet rock. We recommend good hiking boots with grip, and our guides know exactly which trails are most stable. Most paths are well-maintained and marked clearly.
Each of our hikes is rated by distance and elevation gain. Our guides are happy to chat with you beforehand about your fitness level, any joint concerns, and what you're hoping to see. We've got everything from 6-kilometer easy strolls to more challenging 15-kilometer days.
We build in regular breaks anyway—the whole point is to enjoy the landscape, not rush through it. Let your guide know what you need, and we'll adjust. There's no pressure to keep up; the group moves together at a comfortable pace.
Absolutely. Our hikes are open to anyone with an interest in walking and exploring Český ráj. If they speak English or another language, just let us know when you book, and we'll do our best to arrange it.
